People & Culture Coordinator (Summer Student Position)

The People & Culture (Student) supports the daily administrative and recruitment activities of the People & Culture team. This role focuses on coordinating interviews, screening resumes, maintaining accurate employee records, and supporting recruitment processes. The position provides hands-on HR experience while ensuring People & Culture operations run efficiently and in compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Support• Review and screen resumes based on job requirements using established criteria.• Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.• Draft and post job advertisements on company career pages and job boards.

Employee File Auditing & HR Administration• Audit employee files to ensure all required documentation is complete and compliant.• Update and maintain employee records within the HRIS system.• Prepare basic employment letters and documentation using templates (offer letters, confirmation letters, etc.).• Always ensure confidentiality and proper handling of employee information.

Onboarding & Coordination• Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires (documentation collection and scheduling orientations)• Ensure new hire documentation is completed and properly filed.• Assist with tracking probation reviews, work permits, permanent residency documentation, SIN verification and benefit eligibility dates.

General People & Culture Support• Support People & Culture initiatives and employee engagement activities.• Assist with preparing reports and maintaining tracking documents.• Provide administrative support to the People & Culture team.

Education Requirements: • Currently enrolled in (or recently completed) a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
