The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring homes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the company’s quality standards. This role involves managing construction planning, subcontractor activities, and material logistics while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient job site. The Site Superintendent enforces safety compliance, conducts inspections, and ensures all work meets project specifications and local building codes. As the on-site leader, they address challenges proactively to deliver high-quality homes and maintain customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Site Coordination & Task Management• Assign daily tasks to workers and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication of responsibilities and alignment with project goals.• Ensure teams have access to necessary tools, materials, and equipment, minimizing delays or interruptions during construction activities.• Act as the primary point of contact for team members requiring clarification or assistance, providing solutions for any challenges encountered.• Monitor task progress against project schedules, addressing any inefficiencies or delays and adjusting plans as necessary.

Project Oversight & Scheduling• Review pre-construction documentation, confirming all project details align with scope, timeline, and quality requirements before work begins.• Develop and manage the construction schedule, ensuring all trades are aligned and tasks are completed according to project timelines.• Conduct regular site walkthroughs to verify that construction work adheres to plans, meets quality standards, and progresses on schedule.• Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate delays or unforeseen site conditions, minimizing downtime and communicating changes to all relevant parties.

Quality Control & Compliance• Ensure that all work performed meets the project’s design specifications, quality standards, and relevant local building codes.• Conduct inspections of completed work to verify it meets established quality criteria before proceeding to the next phase.Address and resolve discrepancies between actual site conditions and design specifications, coordinating with trades to implement corrective actions.• Collaborate with internal and external inspectors to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.

Safety & Risk Management• Perform daily site safety briefings, reviewing identified hazards and reinforcing safety procedures to mitigate risks on-site.• Conduct regular hazard assessments to identify potential risks, updating reports and safety protocols as necessary.• Investigate incidents and accidents, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions, including retraining or revised safety procedures.• Ensure that site safety standards are met consistently, and take action to address any safety violations or risks identified during inspections.
