Adil Kodian Joins CHBA-Edmonton Board of Directors as a Presidential Appointee

At the 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Edmonton Region (CHBA-ER) on Thursday, November 5, 2020, Rohit Communities Vice President Adil Kodian was appointed to the 2021 Board of Directors.

For nearly a decade, Adil has volunteered with the CHBA and other industry associations, working tirelessly on a variety of initiatives including the CHBA-ER Government Relations Committee, Chair of UDI Edmonton’s Core Redevelopment Committee, and the Board of Directors for Built Green Canada. Highlights of his involvement include advocacy efforts on projects such as Edmonton’s zoning bylaw renewal, rolling changes to zoning bylaws, the open parking option, medium density zoning bylaw and the introduction of secondary suites in duplexes.

“It’s an honour to be selected to serve our Association in this way,” said Kodian. “Our industry is evolving and I’m excited for the advancements we can make in shaping the future of residential construction in our region.”

As Vice President of Rohit Communities, Adil is responsible for the leadership, oversight and profitability of Rohit Communities nationally. Adil also provides executive leadership for Human Resources and Information Technology for the group.  As a member of our executive team, he is helping us achieve our mission to be “The Real Estate Opportunity Company.”

Over his 20-year professional career, Adil has worked in diverse areas such as large-scale information technology, planning, tele-communications and real estate. Prior to working at Rohit, he had an exemplary career including TRLabs (University of Alberta), the City of Edmonton, the Government of Alberta and TCS-Nortel Technology Labs. Adil received a Ph.D. (Electrical Engineering) and an MBA from the University of Alberta, and a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in Surat, India. As a researcher in the field of network design, Adil has published in international peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences as a technical expert in the field of survivable network design.

Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Edmonton Region is a not-for-profit, volunteer driven organization that has fostered a community for the residential construction industry supporting members through advocacy, education, and recognition.

Adil joins other new members of the Board, Greg Degaust of Kern Industries, Charles Fay of Jayman BUILT, and Colin Wilson of Milestone Builder Group.
