Rohit Group of Companies announces partnership with Covenant on innovative approach to health care and wellness community development
Rohit Group of Companies is pleased to announce its development partnership with Covenant family on the Covenant wellness community in southeast Edmonton.
The first of its kind in Alberta, the Covenant wellness community will be a community-based health and wellness hub to serve Edmontonians for generations to come. Located just blocks from the Grey Nuns Community Hospital, this mixed-use campus of care will include comprehensive health services under one roof, innovating the way health care services are delivered and empowering Edmontonians to live well in their communities.

In 2020, Covenant selected Rohit Group of Companies as its premier development partner for the redevelopment of its 11.2 acre site in southeast Edmonton. Rohit Group worked with the Covenant team to execute the vision of an urban community centred around wellness.

This significant infill location provided the opportunity to look at a well-positioned piece of land and see the possibility of what could be created in keeping with Edmonton’s new City Plan, which is focused on a node and corridor model for creating 15-minute communities. The site benefits from existing and new transit services as well as proximity to recreation and open spaces as well as other community services.
“We believe our capabilities in urban planning, design, project management as well as our active experience in land and residential development and commercial projects made us an ideal partner for this project with Covenant,” said Dauk.
The Community Health Centre is the anchor for a comprehensive redevelopment strategy that mixes health care with medical retail uses, other commercial opportunities, as well as seniors care and residential development.
“We are grateful for the support received from City Council and Administration in approving the rezoning required to achieve this mixed-use community, and to the provincial government for embracing this innovative vision for the future of health care,” continues Dauk.
Today’s announcement of this first phase of construction comes as the team moves forward with the detailed design of some of the other community components including the residential development envisioned for the site.
